Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. At the age of four, she started in the business by performing voiceovers and commercials. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection was her second film. She spent some time in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in the park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah would go on to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) numerous times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was included on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), with Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould’s Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Apart from her film and television work, Sarah studied voice, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theatre dance class in "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A New York-born and raised girl, Sarah spent much of her time in the fields of television, film, and also voicing numerous radio ads, as well as traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, when he was employed at many theaters across the nation. She was home schooled by her mother until 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. She was accepted in the 6th year to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) which she attended until she graduated in 2008 Sarah was 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the eldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
