Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She is also a director, model, activist, and actress. Her most well-known character is that of Ginny Weasley as the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the character for a decade until she was chosen to play the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Following the series, Wright appeared in a number of independent films, which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014); the films were met with mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012, she graduated from University of the Arts London with a bachelor's in filmmaking. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began making short films. She directed her first film called the coming-of-age thriller Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at Cannes Film Festival to great critical acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), which featured Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotion and landscape. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls, which was premiering at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, featured three episodes. Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has been recognized as an environmental activist. she is also an ambassador for the charity Greenpeace and Lumos.
