Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born March 23, 1976, is an American actor. Her starring roles include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Gone Baby Gone (2008). She was also known for Gone Baby Gone (2008), Made of Honor (2008) and Trucker (2008). Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). The actress has also been recognized for her starring role in the role of Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On television, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the premiere season of the crime-drama show True Detective (2014), where she earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the drama The Path, a drama series The Path (2016), she starred in the role of Sarah Lane. Monaghan was the lead in the 2020 Netflix thriller, Messiah. It was pulled after just one season. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Bob as well as John are her brothers older than her. Monaghan is a Catholic with Irish and German heritage and graduated from East Buchanan High School, 1994. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to study journalism at Columbia College Chicago and began to model. She modeled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. With only one term left to finish her journalism degree in 1999, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Modeling was her forte and appeared in a variety of catalogs and magazines before making her acting debut. Monaghan was credited in two TV roles, including supporting characters in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. In "Consent" Monaghan was the role as Caroline Busse. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims unit during that episode. On the 19th of January 2001, she appeared in "Consent". The same year, her big screen debut was with Perfume as Henrietta. Her next film, this time playing a role of support, was in 2002 in Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
