Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actor and singer of Irish origin. The passionate, fiery role she played in numerous American film productions was the reason that attracted attention to the beautiful green eyed beauty. Her glamour and beauty were highly praised. She was also referred to as'the Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her characters onscreen reflected her brave, strong character that fought to survive and gain recognition in a world dominated by males. She referred to herself as "the tough Irish girl" and would not be willing to sacrifice respect for others to be able to play the roles she was entitled to due to merit. She stood up to injustices and unfair treatment of female actors during her film career and gained a lot if admirers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. The book was an honest and transparent account of her life, as well as the challenges she had to face in her climb to success. She was an adventurous lady who wasn't afraid of making her own mistakes. She appeared in more than 60 films and was a pillar of international recognition. Following her departure from Parra She remarried in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and a pioneer of transatlantic aviation, to name several accomplishments. A few years into their marriage, she decided to retire. Blair, however, was killed in a fatal plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's happiness was short-lived. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required immediate surgery. She eventually recovered. Over the next few years, her health was declining and she suffered six heart attacks, memory loss in the short term and type 2 diabetes mellitus. On the 24th of October, 2015, O'Hara died peacefully at Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
