Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter was born on December 7, 1979. She is most well-known for her role in the roles of Debra Morgan and Rebecca Harris in Showtime's Dexter. She began her role in the role of Erica Shepherd in The Enemy Within, which is an NBC drama. Carpenter first attracted critical attention for her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award "Best Frightened Performance" and an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also awarded the title of "Breakout performer" at 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They tied the knot on New Year's Eve 2008 in California and walked out for the first time as a couple married at the 66th Golden Globe Awards in January 2009. Hall and Carpenter made a joint statement in December 2010, announcing their split. They remain close to each other. On February 10, 2015 it was announced that Carpenter and singer Seth Avett were engaged and expecting their first child. Carpenter revealed in August 2015 that she'd given birth to one son in May, and that she was eight-and–a-half months pregnant when she was filming the pilot episode of Limitless. Carpenter and Avett were married in May 2016.
